Coach Carter asked me about my deepest fear — what is yours?

I recently watched the movie Coach Carter for the first time. The movie was released back in 2005 and I definitely regret not watching it sooner. If you haven’t seen it — it is a biographical sports film drama based on the true story of a basketball coach — Coach Ken Carter — played in the movie by Samuel Jackson. I loved the movie — guess writing this blog makes that clear.

What inspired me the most is Carter’s leadership. It is unparalleled. And the dialogues. Every 5 minutes I had to stop and sink in the last dialogue, the coach said. His all-time favourite question to his team is “What is your greatest fear?”. And since I love asking myself questions — I took the liberty of interrogating myself with the same question.

Before I tell you about my greatest fear, let me first quote what “Timo Cruz” said in what is now my favourite movie of all time.
